The tenor trombones provide the lower middle register of the traditional orchestra's brass section.
Advanced Soundware has produced two tenor trombone libraries for use with REALIZE. These instrument libraries were recorded 'in-situ' at 96 kHz/24-bit resolution with a multi-mic configuration specified by reknowned Hollywood recording/mixing engineer Steve Kempster.
The two trombones were arranged as one row of two chairs, with the section leader closest to the trumpets. The tenor trombones are optimized to play a triad where the highest note is assigned to Trombone 1, and the middle note to Trombone 2, with the lowest note taken up by the Low Brass. They may of course be arranged in any configuration, including octaves and unisons.
TROMBONE 1:
- Features the section leader and covers the broadest range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the upper range of sampled pitches.
- Seated to the right of the conductor, in the leftmost chair, closest to the trumpets.
TROMBONE 2:
- Covers a broad range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the middle range of sampled pitches.
- Seated to the right of Trombone 2.
