Also known as 'French Horns' these instruments provide the backbone of the traditional orchestra's brass section.
Advanced Soundware has produced six horn libraries for use with REALIZE. These instrument libraries were recorded 'in-situ' at 96 kHz/24-bit resolution with a multi-mic configuration specified by reknowned Hollywood recording/mixing engineer Steve Kempster.
The six horns were arranged as two rows of three chairs. This is optimized for orchestrations where a full triad is to be played by Row A and doubled by Row B, but can be arranged for any combination of horns and distributions of pitches.
HORN 1:
- Features the section leader and covers the broadest range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the upper and lower ranges of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row A, Chair 1 (closest to conductor.)
HORN 2:
- Covers a broad range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the middle range of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row A, Chair 2.
HORN 3:
- Covers a broad range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the lower range of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row A, Chair 3.
HORN 4:
- Features the second-best player and covers a broad range of pitches and articulations.
- Favors the upper range of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row B, Chair 1.
HORN 5:
- Covers a broad range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the middle range of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row B, Chair 2.
HORN 6:
- Covers a broad range of sampled pitches and articulations.
- Favors the middle range of sampled pitches.
- Seated in Row A, Chair 3.
