Taking Control of Note Groupings

Realize will automatically organize your imported Notes into groups called Motifs. These groupings can consist of one, two, three, or four Notes. The software will guess at the best grouping unless you specify the groupings manually through the use of CC #67 (Soft Pedal) in your linked MIDI file.
Here's how it is done:
- Insert a Pedal Down (CC67 = 127) at the start of the first note of a grouping
- Insert a Pedal Up (CC67 = 0) at the end of the last note of a grouping
- If you exceed 4 notes under one pedal, the plug-in will break up your group into smaller chunks
These are good reasons to enforce a grouping:
- You want a particular rhythmic feel like 3 + 2 + 2
- You want better control of special accents like sforzato
- You want better control of slurring in your Legato phrases
- You find it easier to navigate and edit Motifs that you define yourself
